TORONTO, December 10, 2018—Discover the wonders of nature at the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) with a playful line-up of family-friendly programming during ROM for the Holidays. From Wednesday, December 26, 2018 to Sunday, January 6, 2019, the ROM presents live entertainment, hands-on activities, and interactive experiences inspired by the feature exhibitions Spiders: Fear & Fascination, Zuul: Life of an Armoured Dinosaur, and Wildlife Photographer of the Year.
ROM for the Holidays program highlights include:
- The last chance to explore the hunting, burrowing, and weaving world of Spiders: Fear & Fascination, including live venom milking and show-and-tell sessions with ROM Spider Wranglers.
- Get up close to wildlife with Hands On Exotics, a Toronto-based animal shelter specializing in the rescue, care, and conservation of exotic animals.
- Learn the wildest moves nature has to offer with contemporary dance company SaMel Tanz – from the waggle dance of the honey bee to the elaborate display of the peacock spider.
- Participate in Cretaceous Community Art, a giant, interactive mural inspired by the 75-million-year-old world of the incredible armoured dinosaur Zuul.
- Discover ocean life and the underwater world of coral reefs with ROM experts.
- Snap a selfie in the ROM Snowglobe, designed by award-winning ice carvers at Iceculture.
- Face-painting, arts and crafts, scavenger hunts, and more!
