Now in its 52nd year, the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition attracts tens of thousands of submissions from photographers of all ages and skill levels. Premiering at London’s Natural History Museum before embarking on a world tour, the exhibition showcases category finalists and winners of the competition through 100 breathtaking photographs.

The Competition
What first began in 1965 as a nature photography competition with three categories and 361 entries, has evolved into the most renowned annual wildlife photography competition in the world; today, Wildlife Photographer of the Year has grown to 16 categories and attracts nearly 50,000 entries from more than 90 countries.
Reflecting the stunning diversity of our natural world, competition categories include mammals, birds, underwater, and urban landscapes, among others. The prestige of the competition draws entries from professional and amateur photographers alike across all age groups – even children, with a category for ages 10 and under!
Awards & Recognition
Winning the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition is the highest level of recognition for wildlife photographers. Judged over three rounds by a jury of international experts, the winners and finalists of the competition are announced at an awards ceremony hosted at the Natural History Museum in London, where photographs are premiered in a major exhibition before embarking on a world tour.
Wildlife Photographer of the Year offers photographers an internationally acclaimed platform to showcase their incredible works, while celebrating and calling attention to our beautiful and precious Earth.
