YPC’s Signature Event Rocks The ROM on March 31, 2007
All that glitters just might be gold! PROM at the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) is back for the second year and this time the Young Patrons’ Circle (YPC) goes Solid Gold! On Saturday, March 31, 2007, YPC will host the hottest party in town with 800 glamorous guests attending a rocking retro party, emceed by MTV Live’s Dan Levy, in the ROM’s Samuel Hall & Currelly Gallery.
"Building on the success of last year’s sold-out event, our second annual PROM celebration is going to be even more memorable" says Marcus Doyle, Co-chair of the YPC Cabinet. "PROM is truly unlike any other fundraiser. Glamorous guests will arrive to find a museum transformed, complete with gold lame-clad Solid Gold dancers and twenty-four carat cocktails all night long.”
Party tickets to the must-attend event include fabulous hors d’oeuvres, a host bar, music, dancing and ‘Solid Gold’ entertainment that will take revelers back in time. Tickets are also available for a pre-party VIP dinner designed and presented by award-winning Toronto restaurateur Chef Marc Thuet.
What to wear? PROM-goers are encouraged to go gold and glamorous. For more ideas, check out Flare’s online prom style guide: http://www.flare.com/enewsletters/solid_gold_enewsletter.html.
PROM: Solid Gold! is also pleased to announce that Toronto artist Cheryl Rondeau will mount her video installation Les Petites Morts, an homage to 70’s and 80’s film and television, during the exclusive March 31st event.

YPC members receive free access to all YPC events, several social events each year, discounted access to special ticketed nights, free admission to the Museum throughout the year, exhibition previews and a host of other privileges. YPC members gain preferential access to the private party opening of the Michael Lee-Chin Crystal at the Royal Ontario Museum on June 1!
Most YPC members are in their 30s, but eligibility runs the range of 19-44 years, with a standard two-cardholder membership costing $1,000 per year. There are special member rates for those under 30, as well as anyone who has been in school full-time in the past 24 months. Currently, there are 270 YPC members.
