Media are invited to The Franklin Exploration launch at the ROM Wednesday, March 23 at 10:00 am
The Franklin Exploration exhibit is a new interactive pop-up digital display highlighting the story of the tragic Franklin Expedition, as well as the discovery of its ship, HMS Erebus. This exhibit, featured at the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM), as well as nine other Franklin Museum Network venues across Canada, places the mysteries of Franklin’s voyage into a historical context of science and exploration.
Following the exhibit launch, media are invited to attend a live presentation from Parks Canada’s laboratories, where images from inside the HMS Erebus wreck will be shown for the first time. For on-site visual opportunities, grade 7 and 8 students from a local Toronto public school are joining the event. A Parks Canada expert will be on-site to answer questions.
Images are available upon request.
