Meet the Canadians behind Nasa’s OSIRIS-REx sample return mission at the ROM on September 13, 2016
The Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) and the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) present ROMSpeaks Mission to Bennu, an exclusive evening with Canadian scientists and engineers from NASA’s OSIRIS-REx as they return home just days after the mission’s September 8th launch from Florida’s Kennedy Space Center. Join panelist and ROM curator Dr. Kim Tait, along with other members of the Canadian OSIRIS-REx team, for a discussion about the seven- year quest to study the asteroid Bennu, and how Canadian research and expertise is involved.
WHO: Dr. Kim Tait, Teck Endowed Chair of Mineralogy, Royal Ontario Museum, with speakers Dr. Mike Daly, York University; Imran Aslam, MDA Corporation; Dr. Tim Haltigin, CSA, and fellow panelists Dr. Ed Cloutis, University of Winnipeg; Jim Freemantle, York University; and Dr. Rebecca Ghent, University of Toronto. The Misson to Bennu event will be moderated by Ziya Tong, co-host of The Daily Planet.
