ROM’s Young Patrons’ Circle hosts Sixth Annual Fundraiser March 26, 2011
The Young Patrons’ Circle (YPC) at the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) invites you to unleash the party animal within at PROM: Into the Wild, presented by BCBGMAXAZRIA. Inspired by the Museum’s collections of natural history and biodiversity, the YPC’s sixth annual fundraising bash takes place Saturday, March 26, 2011.
Co-chaired by Lauren Baca, Allison Brough, and Nicole Tuschak, and hosted by a committee of some of Toronto’s top young arts and business leaders, PROM: Into The Wild is an event where hundreds of Young Patrons’ Circle members and guests flock to the ROM for a fabulous night of dancing and live entertainment, lush lounges, and a gourmet feast for the senses.
As a new YPC member, I'm looking forward to seeing the wild side of the ROM," says Janet Carding, director & CEO. "It's a great opportunity not only to be part of one of the major events of the season, but also to support educational programs and initiatives that bring natural history to life at the Museum."
Welcoming more than 750 guests each year, PROM is the annual Young Patrons’ Circle fundraising event for the ROM. Proceeds support ROM priorities, including education and programming, gallery and exhibition development, artifact acquisition and care, and international curatorial research.
VIP tickets include exclusive access to a pre-party reception beginning at 8:00 pm with museum curators, mouth-watering dishes and access to a private bar throughout the evening. VIPs will join the stampede to the PROM party (beginning at 9:00 pm), one of the most vibrant events of the season, complete with cocktails, delicious bites, dancing and live entertainment.
Inspired by the beauty and diversity of life on earth, guests are encouraged to take cues from the natural world and dress in bold prints, fancy feathers, faux fur and penguin suits.
VIP tickets are $275 each for YPC members, $295 for non-members, and include exclusive access beginning at 8:00 pm. PROM Party tickets (doors open 9 :00 pm) are $125 each for YPC members, $150 for non-members. About the Young Patrons’ Circle
Since the Young Patrons’ Circle burst onto Toronto’s cultural scene in 2005, it has attracted a dynamic group of visionary philanthropists to the Royal Ontario Museum. Through unique social, educational, cultural and networking opportunities for individuals aged 19 to 45, YPC provides exclusive access to ROM exhibitions, galleries, curators and behind the scenes tours in the Museum’s collections areas. The YPC program appeals to the museum enthusiast who has a passion for discovering natural history, science and world cultures and who is interested in supporting the preservation of the Museum. YPC Patrons will also see a portion of their gift support a specific ROM curatorial project each year.
YPC membership offers a host of privileges, including free access to all YPC events, several social events each year, free admission to the Museum throughout the year and special previews for galleries and exhibitions. Those joining YPC before PROM will receive special member pricing. For more information about the ROM’s Young Patrons’ Circle visit click here or call 416.586.8003.
