METELLA
You are Metella, wife of a wealthy Roman citizen and mother of three children. As a respectable Roman matron, you spend much of your day indoors, overseeing the management of your household. Slaves handle all of the domestic chores, and look after the children. Your leisure time is spent visiting the temples, markets and friends and relatives, but you must be accompanied by a slave.
During the first phase of the eruption you sheltered in your house with your husband and children. Roughly 6 hours after the eruption began, the roof collapsed under the accumulated weight of falling debris, crushing everything beneath it. Around a third of the deaths in Pompeii during the eruption happened in ths way.
