Last chance to see stunning exhibition featuring 100 of the world’s best nature images
TORONTO, March 8, 2016—Wildlife Photographer of the Year (WPY), presented by Quark Expeditions®, closes at the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) on Sunday, March 20, 2016. A favourite with Museum visitors, the exhibition features 100 spectacular images of our natural world. Also included are the winning images from three Canadian photographers. WPY is on display for its final week during the ROM’s March Break events.
The highlight of this year’s WPY is the overall winning image, A tale of two foxes, by Dr. Don Gutoski, from London, Ontario. Also highlighted are Connor Stefanison, from Burnaby, British Columbia, WPY Rising Star Portfolio Winner, with six images on display, and Josiah Launstein of Pincher Creek, Alberta, Finalist in the 10 Years and Under category, with two photos in the exhibition. All of these images were shot in Canada.
The winner of this year’s ROM Photographer of the Year contest is Steve Rose, from Toronto, Ontario. His photo, Early morning coyote taking a drink in a Toronto park is featured on the ROM’s WPY contest page. The grand prize, an Artic Expedition for two, was generously contributed by Quark Expeditions®.
WPY is a specially priced exhibition, and admission includes entry to the ROM. Tickets and exhibition details are available here. The ROM is open for extended hours during Enchanted March Break, with discounted admission available between March 12 to March 19, 2016, from 4:30 – 8:30 pm.
