2024 Quimby F. Hess Lecture
The Insects in our Lives: So Many Species, So Little Time!

Saturday, November 23, 2024, 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

FREE. RSVP Required.

Explore the unseen world of insects in an illustrated talk with Steve Marshall, one of Canada’s most influential entomologists. Inspired by his decades-long fascination with insect diversity, Marshall delves into what is known (and unknown) about Earth’s seemingly boundless biodiversity. Through his thrilling experiences of finding and naming species, this program explores how the seemingly boundless diversity of insects will remain a source of inspiration and exciting discovery for generations to come.

As a strong advocate for a better understanding of our insect world, Marshall inspires new generations of amateur and professional entomologists. Through his research, he encourages us to think through our relationship with the insects around us.

Program Partner: Toronto Entomologists’ Association.
