Antimicrobial Copper at ROM
Copper is a good conductor of heat and electricity, which helps the Museum start up and go each day. But copper also helps things slow down and stop, like the spread of harmful bacteria and viruses. ROM has installed copper hardware and fixtures in high-touch, high-traffic areas, where its natural antimicrobial properties help reduce the spread of infection to keep our visitors exploring safely.
Antimicrobial copper installations were fully funded by Teck Resources Limited, as part of its Copper & Health program.
- Photography with flash and video recording are allowed in most permanent galleries for personal use only, with hand-held equipment
- Selfie sticks, tripods, monopods, etc. are not allowed
- Photography may not be permitted in some special exhibitions. Signs will be clearly posted in spaces where photography restrictions are in effect
ROM is dedicated to providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all our visitors, staff, and volunteers. To ensure everyone has a positive experience, please adhere to the following principles:
1. Respect for All: Treat everyone with kindness and respect, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, or any other characteristic. Hate speech, discrimination, and harassment will not be tolerated.
2. Safety First: Follow all safety instructions from staff and security. Any behaviour that threatens the safety or well-being of others will result in immediate removal from the premises.
3. Protect the Museum: Do not touch or damage exhibitions. Respect and protect ROM objects and property.
4. Considerate Communication: Always use appropriate language. Swearing, shouting, and aggressive behaviour are prohibited.
5. Personal Conduct: Keep noise levels down, please turn your cell phone to “silent” or “vibrate,” and be considerate of others when using your phone. Smoking, vaping, and the use of cannabis are not allowed on museum property.
Following these guidelines, you help us maintain a space where everyone can enjoy and learn.
All Museum visitors are subject to ROM’s complete Code of Conduct.
Thank you for your cooperation and support in making ROM a welcoming community gathering place for all.

Pricing FAQs
Plan Ahead Pricing allows you to reserve a spot to explore ROM on a day that suits your schedule, and lock in admission savings at the same time. Our ticketing calendar lists admission prices for each day the Museum is open. Visitors are encouraged to explore the calendar to find a day that fits their schedule and budget.
The best way to take advantage of Plan Ahead Pricing is to lock in your savings by purchasing Museum tickets in advance. In general, prices during peak periods will be higher than during non-peak periods.
Generally, the further ahead you purchase a ticket, the more you’ll save. Tickets will typically cost more if purchased on the day of a visit, so buying at least a day in advance will always save you money.
No, but the price may increase over time, so it is always best to buy your ticket in advance. Not only will this give you the best available ticket price, it will also guarantee your spot to experience the Museum – particularly applicable during high visitation periods like holidays and special events.
Booking in advance with Plan Ahead Pricing provides the best savings on any given day. In addition to Plan Ahead Pricing, ROM offers other lower-priced admissions options through special admission and community accessibility programs, such as Third Tuesday Night Free, ROMCAN, and more.
Not necessarily. Ticket prices may change daily, so purchasing additional tickets at a later date may cost more. The only way to lock in a price is by purchasing the ticket at the time the price is displayed. If you need additional tickets, we recommend buying as soon as possible to take advantage of Plan Ahead Pricing savings.
