Makerspace (Level 1)

Drop by Makerspace for exciting art-making workshops where you can take home some handmade treasures.
- March 8 – Cyanotype Printing: Experience the science and history behind cyanotype printing, then use UV light to reveal your own striking blue-coloured work of art.
- March 15 – Fossil Formation: Unearth the secrets of prehistoric preservation by creating a fossil by pressing 3D-printed dinosaur bones into clay.

Join Parks Canada interpreters and invertebrate experts in an exciting conversation about the Burgess Shale and 50 years of ROM research. Get hands-on with real fossils, cool reproductions, and learn fun facts about ancient life in the Cambrian period.

Follow the epic migration of Monarch butterflies and learn how our researchers, with the help of citizen scientists, discovered their incredible journey. Plus, enjoy hands-on activities, specimens, and immersive displays that bring this remarkable story to life.

Dinosaur lovers, unite! Play interactive games, solve puzzles, touch fossils, and create a mix-and-match dino. These activities are perfect for curious kids and dino-enthusiasts of all ages.

March 11 & 13: 3D Scanning
Ever seen something at ROM and wished you could examine it up close? Curious about how it was made or if it can be restored? Explore the world of 3D scanning and transform physical objects into digital wonders.
March 12: Robotics Fun with Ozobots
Use colour coding technology to experiment with introductory robotics concepts like linear coding methods and colour sensing. Plus, navigate through fun puzzles and mazes with little colour sensing robots!
