This time on the ROMKids Show we journey back in time to learn about pyramids all over the world! Archaeologist Dr. Craig Cipolla returns to the Show to explain why pyramids were built by so many unconnected cultures, why aliens were certainly not involved, and the importance of telling the truth. Then we’ll make our own pyramids out of salt dough!
ACTIVITY: Salt Dough Pyramids
MATERIALS:
- 1 cup flour
- ½ cup saly
- scissors
- water
DIRECTIONS
- Step 1: Mix your flour and salt thoroughly, then slowly add small amounts of water and stir.
- Step 2: Keep adding small amounts of water until you’ve reached a dough that forms a large clump that can form objects. If it’s too wet and sticky, add more flour. If it’s too dry, add water.
- Step 3. Roll out your dough and cut out four triangles for the sides of your pyramid, and a square base to position your pyramid on. Have fun!
