Holiday Activities
Currelly Gallery (Level 1)
Daily at 10:00 am, 1:00 pm, 2:30 pm
Our friends at the Ontario Science Centre are partnering with ROM to bring one of their most loved objects to the Museum over the holidays. Have you ever seen your hair stand on end? No, it's not a horror movie, but the wonders of science at work! Get charged up and learn about static electricity with Science Centre Hosts and the iconic Van de Graaff Generator.
Pick up your Scavenger Hunt at the Information Desk on Level 1
Head off on a journey of adventure and encounter brilliant bursts of colour in art, culture, and nature along the way — each revealing a different story. Follow the clues and keep your eyes open - the Museum is full of colourful surprises.
Pick up your Trail Guide on Level 1
While OpenROM construction may mean some regular routes through the Museum have changed, this Trail leads to some of our favourites from the dinosaur world, as well as their cool mammal and bird friends.
Earth Rangers Studio (Level 2)
Daily: 10:00 am - 4:30 pm
Animals use their colour for many things - as a warning, for protection, and to deceive, to name a few. Let the world of messages in colour be your guide as you decode what nature is really saying in this interactive activity for all ages

Snap a pic at ROM during the holiday season to share with family and friends. Celebrate lights, colour, and all things festive with this interactive light-up display. Make sure to bring your own camera and don’t forget to say “cheese”!

China Gallery (Level 1)

Learn how colours help us talk about how we feel. Express your emotions through art, connect with others, and create colourful works in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
Earth's Treasures (Level 2)
Daily: 10:00 am - 4:30 pm
Relax with this painting game set in Montréal. Colour the city to explore, create artworks on canvas, collect stamps, decorate your studio, and unleash your inner artist.
WonderWorks (Level 2)
Daily: 10:00 am - 4:30 pm
A creative adventure for children ages 3 to 8 years. Little ones can explore creativity and the meaning of colour in the world through storytelling, simple activities, and interactive experiences.
European Rotating Exhibitions (Level 3)
Daily: 10:00 am - 4:30 pm
Create vibrant, unique snowflake designs, blending colour with the beauty of winter's geometry. Remember, no two snowflakes are the same!
Rome (Level 3)
Daily: 10:00 am - 4:30 pm
Bring ancient Roman sculptures to life, using vibrant colours to personalize each with your own creative touch.
