Benefit of Digital Cards
Digital membership cards are a convenient and environmentally friendly alternative to plastic cards.
Digital membership cards provide quick links to the Member login—where you can register for events—the ROM website, contact information, and Museum hours. Plus, you never have to worry about forgetting your membership card when you visit the Museum as you can just scan your digital card on your phone at the entrance.
Questions & Answers
Digital membership cards can be downloaded and saved to your smartphone. Going digital means you never have to worry about forgetting your membership card again and as well, it is more environmentally friendly.
After joining ROM membership, you will receive an email with a link to download your card within 7 business days of your purchase.
If you are renewing your membership, or your membership has a delayed start, you will receive your digital card within 7 business days of your membership activation date.
You do not have to wait for your digital membership card to begin enjoying the Museum. Simply login to your account and reserve your Member tickets using the email and password you set up to purchase or renew your membership.

- Access the email from your mobile phone and click the "Download" button
- Click "Add to Apple Wallet" and "Add.
- The card will automatically go to your iPhone’s Apple Wallet where it can be accessed at any time.
Android users need to make sure Google Wallet (also known as Google Pay or Gpay) is installed.
- Access the email from your mobile phone and click “Download”
- Click on “Save to Google Wallet” and “Add”
- The card will automatically be saved to your Google Wallet app, where it can be accessed at any time. In some cases, Google Wallet might ask you to log in so you can save it to an account. Please log in to continue (no credit card information should be required).
Both primary and secondary cardholders are listed on your digital membership card. Please follow the steps below to share your digital membership card with the second cardholder named on your membership.
IOS
- Navigate to the back of the card (tap on the "..." button on the front)
- Then tap on the share icon at the top right to send the card to your secondary cardholder. You will find the share icon at the top right on the back of the card.
Android
Unfortunately, there is currently no way to send the membership card to the secondary cardholder in the Google Wallet app. You will need to forward your Welcome email to the secondary cardholder for installation.
For memberships with two named cardholders, digital membership cards are issued with both cardholder names.
Please email us at membership@rom.on.ca or call us at 416.586.5700 and we will be happy to send you a new email with a link to download your card.
Unfortunately, we cannot generate digital membership cards for add-on guests or Caregivers at this time. Please login to your account to reserve tickets for your Caregiver and children, and let your Caregiver know they will need to present their tickets along with ID at the entrance.
You can visit the Membership desk during your next visit to request a printed membership card. To reduce our use of plastic, your membership cards will be printed on recyclable cardstock paper.
