About

Join ROM’s Arlene Gehmacher in conversation with Karin Jones, Vancouver based artist, as they discuss Worn, Jones’ powerfully evocative piece now within the museum's collection. A Victorian mourning dress made of synthetic hair, around which are strewn cotton bolls, Worn addresses the complexity of African Canadian identity when shaped by forces such as imperial rule, slavery and alienation.

Event captured on August 19, 2020.
