The ROM has nearly 7 million specimens
The ROM has nearly 7 million specimens and objects in its collection. Recently, a new storage location was acquired to safely store some of the Museum's collection off site. While the location of the new storage space is a secret for security purposes, nearly 25,450 objects are housed in the new space. Moving artifacts to this location has been a multi-year process with many items still being unwrapped.
