Celebrate Lunar New Year with
Family Day Weekend Events at the ROM
Visit the ROM on Family Day Weekend from Saturday, February 13 to Monday, February 15, 2016 to celebrate a new year and new beginnings with Big Weekend: Lunar New Year at the ROM. Enjoy a fun-filled schedule of events for visitors of all ages including dance, live music, interactive games, textiles displays, and more.
WHAT: ROM BIG WEEKEND: Lunar New Year highlights include:
- Live Lion Dances
- Shaolin Kung Fu demonstrations featuring stunning martial art techniques
- Fortune telling from The Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto
- Family Games Room with chess, yut nori/yunnori, charades and a New Year’s quiz
- Calligraphy and painting demonstrations
- Hands-on demonstrations of a thermal camera, courtesy of the Canada Museum of Science and Technology
- Traditional music performances from The Toronto Chinese Orchestra, Ontario’s largest Chinese orchestra; vocal inspiration from the internationally-acclaimed Yip's Chamber Orchestra; and more!

Activities run daily from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, and are included with ROM General Admission
