ROM Celebrates Family Day Weekend with Special Ticket Discounts and Free Kids’ Admission
TORONTO, February 13, 2025 – Families looking for a fun adventure this Family Day weekend can enjoy discounted tickets for adult visitors and free kids' admission (ages 4-14) to the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) from Friday, February 14 to Monday, February 17, 2025. (Children under 4 are always free.)
All weekend, adult visitors will receive 20 percent off both general Museum admission and surcharged special exhibition tickets.
Current special exhibitions at ROM include Auschwitz. Not Long Ago. Not Far Away; Nature in Brilliant Colour; and crowd favourite Wildlife Photographer of the Year. (Note: While the discount applies from February 14-17, enhanced Family Day programming and performances will begin on Saturday, February 15.)
Kids – and kids at heart – can step back in time and embark on a prehistoric adventure from Saturday to Monday with special hands-on access to fossils, interactive crafting stations, new immersive dinosaur experiences, and plenty of other prehistoric fun for all ages!
Learn all about how dinosaurs and other prehistorical animals shaped our world – and what they can teach us about the future.
There’s lots to dig up at ROM this weekend. Enjoy the Museum’s renowned permanent galleries, take in memorable special exhibitions, or participate in interactive workshops, creative activities, and shared learning experiences. Highlights include:
YMT Toronto Lion Dance

Saturday, Feb. 15 – 1:30 pm & 2:30 pm
Blending athleticism and artistry, local dance team Yi Mo Tong uses their performances to spread cultural awareness and inspire new generations to embrace ancient traditions.
Collage Corner: The Colours of My Life

Sunday, Feb. 16 – 1-hour sessions starting at 11 am, 12 pm & 1 pm
Join a hands-on collage-making session and share meaningful conversations inspired by your creation.
Sierra the Utahraptor

Sierra, Canada’s first interactive and life-sized animatronic Utahraptor, is roaring with excitement and ready to roam the Museum.
Fossil Formation Station

Monday, Feb. 17 – 11 am - 4 pm
In this hands-on workshop about prehistoric preservation, create your very own take-home fossil by pressing 3D-printed dinosaur bones into clay.
Jurassic Junk Art

Inspired by contemporary artist Junko’s towering dinosaur sculpture (on display at ROM!), craft your own paper dinosaur from recycled materials, while learning about sustainability and our role in protecting the planet.
Dinosaurs in the Park

Did you know that all birds are dinosaurs? Uncover the shared traits between birds and their prehistoric ancestors by examining real specimens. Plus, bring dinosaur eggs to life by colouring your own!
Exploring Herbivores and Carnivores, Dino Style!
Hands-On Biodiversity Gallery (Level 2)
Feb. 15 – Feb. 17, 10 am - 5:30 pm
In this facilitated touch-table activity, find out about the diets of a wide range of dinosaurs by examining fossils to learn what they ate – and how they avoided getting eaten.
Prehistoric Play Zone

Join us for interactive experiences perfect for curious kids and dinosaur enthusiasts of all ages, including:
