Province of Ontario to mark the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III with free Museum access.
TORONTO, May 3 – The Province of Ontario welcomes all to enjoy ROM with free admission on Saturday, May 6, 2023, to mark Coronation Day.
No ticket needed — guests will receive full Museum access, including current special exhibitions Canadian Modern and T.rex: The Ultimate Predator.
“We are pleased to mark this historic occasion by throwing open our doors to the public,” says Josh Basseches, ROM Director & CEO. “And, for that, we have the Ontario government, our generous partner, to thank.”
“The Ontario government is celebrating the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III by inviting everyone to visit the Royal Ontario Museum for free on May 6,” says Neil Lumsden, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport. “Whether it’s your first time visiting or you’re a regular guest, I encourage you to take advantage of this exciting opportunity and experience everything the ROM has to offer.”
ROM opens at 10:00 am and closes at 5:30 pm on Saturday, May 6. Last admission at 5:00 pm. Visitors to enter via the Michael Lee-Chin Crystal entrance on Bloor Street West. Admission to T.rex: The Ultimate Predator is based on hourly capacity limits.
Canadian Modern offers a new perspective on the rich legacy of Canadian craft and design by presenting 100 innovative and iconic examples from ROM collections – from fashion to electronics to furniture. Fans of the most feared and celebrated dinosaur will be thrilled by the 40 models and casts, interactive displays, fossil T.rex skull and Canadian-discovered tyrannosaur fossil specimens presented in the spectacular T.Rex: The Ultimate Predator exhibition, from the American Museum of Natural History and presented by Desjardins Group.
