TORONTO, March 13, 2020, 4:00 p.m. — The Royal Ontario Museum announced today that it will temporarily close its doors to the public starting Saturday, March 14, 2020.

Josh Basseches, Director & CEO, ROM, has issued the following statement:

“In light of today’s announcement from the Ontario Chief Medical Officer of Health, we will be temporarily closing the ROM to the public, effective Saturday, March 14; this includes all programs as well as internal and external events. The health and safety of our visitors, staff, and volunteers is of utmost importance in these challenging times. We anticipate remaining closed to the public through to April 5 but will continue to take guidance from our public health officials regarding the duration of this closure.”
