TORONTO, April 13, 2022 – After a two-year pause, ROM (Royal Ontario Museum) is pleased to relaunch Third Tuesday Night Free. Starting on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, every third Tuesday of each month the Museum is free to the public from 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm. With extended hours and complimentary access. Everyone is welcome.

The Third Tuesday Night Free program is made possible by the generous support of The Bennett Family Foundation and the Temerty Foundation.

As capacity is limited, timed tickets are required. Visitors are asked to secure their spot by booking ahead through ROM’s website here.

Third Tuesday Night Free Highlights

With the relaunch of Third Tuesday Nights Free, visitors will also be able to enjoy the Museum’s special exhibitions for free on these select evenings thanks to the generosity of the Temerty Foundation.

Wildlife Photographer of the Year: Organized and presented by the Natural History Museum (NHM) in London, this exhibition features images from the longest-running and most prestigious nature photography competition in the world.

Great Whales: Up Close and Personal explores the world of sea giants, from the majestic blue whale – the biggest animal ever – to the sperm whale and the North Atlantic right whale. In this ROM-original exhibition, Great Whales offers visitors an intimate and awe-inspiring look at the leviathans of the sea.

Swapnaa Tamhane: Mobile PalaceThis bold and immersive exhibition features three large cotton cloth installations created from long lengths of printed and embroidered fabric, inspired by Mughal and Ottoman tents which were used as mobile palaces.

Kore 670: This rare statue has travelled from the Acropolis, in Athens, to Toronto and will be on display for a very short time before returning home. Considered a Greek masterpiece, the sculpture was buried for more than 2,000 years before being re-discovered.

Willner Madge Gallery, Dawn of LifeROM’s newest gallery brings the dawn of life to life. From the earliest microbes to the emergence of dinosaurs and mammals, Dawn of Life is a thrilling interactive journey through nearly four billion years of evolution.

Unmasking the Pandemic: From Personal Protection to Personal Expression: This exhibition presents over 100 original masks from artists from over 23 countries, which reflect their makers' stories of resilience, cultural identity, and collective humanity in the face of a global crisis.

#MyPandemicStory: Youth Create Portraits of a Pandemic: ROM’s first crowd-sourced exhibition displays 60 selected artworks that form a stirring portrait of the complex journeys young people have experienced during the pandemic.

Free Tuesdays for Post-Secondary Students

Full-time students attending a Canadian college or university can enjoy free general admission on Tuesdays all day! Students just need to show a valid school ID to access the Museum.
