Bio

George Mavroudis is President and CEO of Guardian Capital Group Limited (Guardian), a publicly listed global asset management firm on the Toronto Stock Exchange. He joined Guardian in 2005 as a senior executive, progressively assuming overall responsibility for the business management of the firm’s investment operations, including both institutional and private wealth management. George has served as Chief Executive Officer and Board Director since November 2011.

His career in the financial services industry began in 1992 at Coopers & Lybrand. Prior to joining Guardian, George was a managing director at JPMorgan Fleming Asset Management, holding several senior management roles across their network of offices including London, New York, Moscow and Toronto. 

In the community, George is a current Governor with both the North York General Hospital (NYGH) and the private independent boys school, Crescent.  He serves on the Audit & Finance Committee of the NYGH and is currently the Chair of the Governance Committee for Crescent after serving for several years as the Chair of the Development Committee and overseeing the latest Master Campus Campaign Fundraising initiative.  George has also been an active leader in several healthcare fundraising campaigns across the Greater Toronto Area.  Past volunteer work has also included the Canada Council for the Arts as member of the Investment Committee including as Chair of the committee from 2012 to 2019. 

Early Life

George graduated with a B.Comm from University of Toronto. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) of Ontario.
