Contest

Celebrating a decade of stunning wildlife photography

Inspired by the prestigious Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition, the Ontario-wide ROM Wildlife Photo Contest proudly returned for its 10th year, inviting photographers of all skill levels to capture and share the breathtaking beauty of the natural world. This milestone year was made even more special thanks to incredible prizes generously provided by our friends at Henry’s!

From December 21, 2024, to February 21, 2025, we welcomed submissions from both amateur and professional photographers, encouraging them to showcase their most captivating wildlife and nature images on Instagram. Entrants participated by using the hashtags #ROMwpyON (open category) and #ROMwpyJR (for young photographers aged 13 to 17).

This year’s contest saw an outstanding variety of submissions, each offering a unique glimpse into the wonders of the natural world. Our esteemed panel of judges had the exciting challenge of reviewing these incredible entries.

Mark Peck – Ornithologist, Royal Ontario Museum
Paul Eekhoff – Senior Photographer, Royal Ontario Museum
Jo-Anne McArthur – Founder, We Animals
David Coulson – Conservation Photojournalist
Vincent Luk – Co-founder, Hello Foto Inc.

We extend our warmest congratulations to all participants for sharing their remarkable talent and passion for wildlife photography. A heartfelt thank you to our judges, contest supporters, and especially to Henry’s for helping us celebrate 10 years of showcasing extraordinary photography. We look forward to another decade of capturing nature’s wonders—see you next year!
