Hope everyone is enjoying the summer so far! Yesterday was the first day - and the longest day of the year. Time to get out and enjoy this beautiful weather. What a perfect time for the Museum to have so much to offer. Whether going with friends, family or a first date, there is something for everyone this week at the ROM.

It came as a surprise yesterday when Marie Menard wrote that she had brought her grade nine class from Tsuu T'ina Jr. Sr. High School all the way to Toronto and would like me to meet with them at the ROM the next day. Today I had the pleasure of meeting these warm and well-mannered students.

If you happened to go by the ROM at night last week, you might notice that we were looking quite....volcanic. Over the week, the Michael Lee-Chin Crystal was the canvas for an outdoor activation that featured an animated Mt Vesuvius. The volcano got more and more active, culminating in an explosive show on Friday night for the opening of Pompeii: In the Shadow of the Volcano. See it at the ROM until January 3.
