Leslie Gales is President and Chief Investment Officer of the Midland Group of Companies.  In 1990, Leslie founded Midland Group to support the business, personal and philanthropic activities of her extended family.  Midland Group manages a diverse portfolio of assets in both public and private markets including, Hedge Funds, Public Equities, Fixed Income, Private Equity and Venture Capital.  While based in Toronto, Canada, Midland Group focuses on global investing opportunities.

In addition to Midland Group, Leslie is also the Chief Executive Officer of her family foundation, the D.H. Gales Charitable Foundation, which focuses on supporting charitable causes specifically in the areas of Healthcare, Arts, Education and the Jewish Community.

Leslie is also a committed community volunteer and has chaired the investment committees for Mount Sinai Hospital and the United Jewish Appeal Foundation. She currently sits on board of the Art Gallery of Ontario Foundation and the Canadian National Gallery Foundation.  Additionally, she has chaired the United Jewish Appeal Federation of Greater Toronto (2003-2005), and the United Israel Appeal of Canada (2017-2019).  She was a recipient of the Canadian Senate Sesquicentennial Medal (2017), and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal (2012).  She was named WXN 100 Most Powerful Women (2011).
